The next IUFRO (The International Union of Forest Research Organizations) All-Division 5 (Forest Products) conference, 2027, "Future Forest Use: Advancing Wood Science and Forest Products for a Circular Bioeconomy," will be jointly organised in cooperation with SWST (The Society of Wood Science & Technology) and the Estonian University of Life Sciences. The conference will be held in Tartu, Estonia, at the Estonian National Museum from May 30th to June 3rd, 2027. 

The conference will address the numerous aspects of forest products as represented in 11 active research groups of Division 5, which can be summarised into key topics as follows: Future Wood, Wood Science, Wood Valorization, and Non-Wood Products. It goes beyond wood, emphasizing the efficient, science-based use of forest resources for the good of mankind. To date, more than 25 sessions have been accepted for organisation.

Some important dates include 1) abstract submission deadline: October 26th, 2026, 2) feedback to abstract submitters: November 27th, 2026; 3) early bird closes (also deadline for authors’ registration): January 25th, 2027; 4) regular registration closes: March 27th, 2027; 5) late registration closes (after this date, on-site registration is also possible): May 3rd, 2027.
